Pre-Operation Inspection Infographic

Pre-operation safety checks or inspections are required by both OSHA (USA) and OHSA (Canada). These inspections help spot maintenance and safety issues before they become an issue, as well as keep your forklifts operating a peak efficiency. When conducting a pre-operation inspection, do the following:

  • Check tires for excessive wear/damage
  • Check the forks and retaining pins for wear/damage
  • Check the appearance and operation of the seatbelt
  • Check all warning devices (strobe lights, horn, etc.) are functioning
  • Check to make sure the steering wheel and controls for proper operation
  • Check the mast, brakes and hydraulics for proper operation
